The project
“The ‘Financially Empowered Women’ (FEW) project stands at the forefront of addressing the critical need for financial literacy among migrant and refugee women in Europe, a demographic crucial for the continent’s cultural and economic vibrancy yet disproportionately affected by financial illiteracy. This initiative is a KA2 Cooperation Partnership in the field of youth, generously funded by the Erasmus+ Programme, highlighting its significance and potential impact within the EU.
At its core, FEW is designed to empower young women from migrant and refugee backgrounds by providing them with the necessary tools and knowledge to achieve financial independence and security. By developing an innovative online financial literacy course, FEW addresses the barriers these women face, such as low financial literacy skills, language hurdles, and social isolation, thus facilitating their smoother transition and inclusion into European societies.
The project is a collaborative effort led by ‘Together For Youth’ in France, with partners across Europe including EuropeYou in Spain, MINERVA in Italy, and Nooruse Maja in Estonia. This strategic partnership ensures a broad reach and a diverse set of expertise, making the FEW initiative a comprehensive approach to fostering financial literacy and inclusion.
Through dedicated work packages, the FEW project not only aims to create and disseminate an innovative training programme but also to support young migrant and refugee women in gaining equal opportunities for inclusion in all aspects of life. Furthermore, by raising awareness and promoting the uptake of project results, FEW seeks to overcome the key barriers to exploiting new educational resources for immigrant women.
In sum, the Financially Empowered Women project embodies a holistic approach to addressing the challenges faced by young migrant and refugee women in Europe. By leveraging the support of the Erasmus+ Programme, FEW is set to make a significant contribution to the empowerment and inclusion of one of the most vulnerable groups in contemporary European societies.”
A Unified Approach Across Borders

With partners in France, Spain, Italy, and Estonia, FEW is uniquely positioned to make a profound impact in diverse contexts.
